Getting tired of Netflix bingeing with your person every night? Just because you are practicing social distancing and self-isolation doesn’t mean you can’t have date nights anymore! It also doesn’t mean that your dates have to be lame or unromantic. Here are some creative date nights that we think you will enjoy. 😉
Charcuterie Board Making – Charcuterie boards have been the new craze these days and we definitely know why. They’re amazing! Who doesn’t love cheese!? You two can spend a night-in creating the most amazing + delicious boards. You can be so creative in what you include on your board and cater it to your own preferences. My personal favorite is peppercorn crusted salami and fresh honeycomb!
Learn About Your Enneagram Types – Some of your coworkers may have been asking you “What’s your number?” This personality test has taken the world by storm, especially with millennials. There are 9 types/numbers that you can identify as based on a number of factors. If you’re not sure what numbers you + your partner are, you can spend an evening taking the test and comparing!  Be forewarned, it’s a long one – but the results are pretty dang accurate (we used our team as guinea pigs). Once you discover what number you fall into you can learn more about your types!  It can help you get to know each other even more, and even give you a better insight into yourself. There are also tons of Instagram accounts filled with enneagram info and memes. The memes are so spot on it can be scary haha!
Cook-Off – Most times when you google date nights-in they say to cook a meal together and enjoy that time. But how much fun would it be if you were competing against each other to see whose dish is best? Or you can act like you’re on an episode of Chopped and share the same 4 ingredients but create different dishes. The options are endless and this can be so fun! Especially if you are competitive. May the best chef win!
Spa Night – Who doesn’t love a day at the spa? You can recreate a day at the spa right in your own home! If you have a diffuser you can get that aromatherapy vibe going or just light a candle to get the room smelling great. Dim the lights in your home and have peaceful music playing in the background. You can spend the rest of the evening doing face masks, pedicures, hair treatments, a bubble bath, etc.
Candle Making – There are many online tutorials that show you how you can make a candle. Since you are making this at home, you are able to create your perfect scent! If you’re not the super DIY type you can support a local business that offers candle making materials. If you are in the Houston area, Foxfire Candle Works is offering at home candle making kits while we are all staying safe + isolated.  They’re great folks – check it out!
Wine + Paint Session – You can channel your inner Van Gough in the comfort of your living room. There are YouTube tutorials on different paintings that you can cast onto your TV to guide you as you begin your masterpiece. Once you have your supplies such as canvases, easels + paints you are good to go! It’s always fun to sip on a glass of wine while you paint too.  Now you have a piece of art you can hang in your home!   Don’t worry about making it perfect – even if you make messes, they’re just happy little accidents 🙂
Two Person Game Night – There are a plethora of options when it comes to games for 2. Some options are: Dominos, Codenames [2 person version], Farkle, Checkers, Battleship, Scrabble and card games.  You can even download Trivial Pursuit or any number of two player phone games!
You can keep score throughout the night and the loser has to plan the next date!
Create a Fort or Camp in Your Backyard – Time to bring yourself back to your childhood with this cozy idea. Blanket forts are THE BEST! Honestly, why did we stop making them!? Gather all of the blankets + pillows in your house to create a cozy fort for you two to watch a movie in. If you’re feeling extra adventurous you can set up a tent in your backyard and camp out for the evening.
These times have allowed us to slow down our busy everyday lives and truly reconnect with one another.  We hope that you enjoy time with your person and get creative with your at-home date nights!
