When it comes to planning your wedding you probably have a few ideas about what you want and how you would like your big day to play out. You may have even been to or even in a few of your friend’s weddings so you have an idea of what the day will look like and what you would change for yours. But even with all of this knowledge, it still can be difficult to plan an entire wedding by yourself, and that is perfectly okay! Here are a few reasons why having a wedding planner or at least a day-of coordinator is extremely beneficial. 

Planning a wedding is time-consuming!

You may think that planning a wedding is just scrolling through Pinterest and booking vendors, but according to the Knot it takes between 200 and 500 hours to plan a wedding! It is hard to balance a career, a social calendar, your relationship, AND research how to plan a wedding. Hiring a planner gives you more time to enjoy being a fiance and your wedding day itself!

Budgets are not one-size-fits-all!

There are a lot of sample wedding budgets out there, but they can be vague and filled with misinformation. Your planner will guide you through creating a personalized budget that accounts for vendor rates from your local market, what your wedding priorities are, or all of the little details that are important to you! Plus, your planner might also know which vendors are able to work best with your budget to bring your vision to life!

You may want to cut costs by cutting out a planner or day-of coordinator, but in the end, this could just end up costing you more time and money without their expertise. Your planner will also know to account for their price in your overall budget!

They handle the big day logistics!

You can probably draw up a general time for your ceremony and reception on your own but there are a lot of little details that come up on a wedding day. You should not be expected to deal with any mishaps while enjoying the best day of your life! When are the boutonnieres arriving and who is pinning them on the groomsmen? When are your vendors setting up and where do they go when they get there? What do we do if your parents are running late? Hiring a planner, or at least a day-of coordinator, will help to ensure that your day runs smoothly. They will be the point person to deal with anything and everything. You can have peace of mind knowing that the details are taken care of while you and your loved ones calmly enjoy the day’s activities!

They have an emergency kit!

Every great planner loves a well-stocked emergency kit! You can be the most organized bride in the world and still forget your cake-cutting knives or pens for your guest book. You might need a sewing kit for a snapped bridesmaid’s dress strap, a tide pen for a groomsmen’s stained tie, or glue for a heel that breaks at the last minute. Your planner or day-of coordinator has likely been there, fixed that, and added a tool to their kit to tackle any hiccup that comes your way!

You shouldn’t stress on your wedding day!

With everything that goes along with planning a wedding, it can be overwhelming and take away from what the day is truly about. The last thing you want is to be stressed through the planning process or on the day of. You should be able to enjoy this time in your life every step of the way and all you should be worried about is marrying the love of your life. Your wedding planner is there to carry any stress for you, it’s their job!
